Synoptic 9-Way Crystal Ball

Our modelling approach links people, process and technology and creates a 9 way many-to-many reference model. Using ‘capture once; use many’ advanced process modelling software, wasteful and risky single-use tools such as MS-Visio, Word and Excel are avoided. Delivery is fast and productive, there’s a single source of the truth, and knowledge is captured and reused.

At the push of a button, this reference model is published as an HTML website. Users can click-though to browse and understand its elements and relationships, supporting;

  • the project phase - virtual teams can review and participate in the project
  • the ‘business as usual’ phase - training, procedures and work instructions, FAQs, compliance / risk / quality management, to name a few, are all supported.

The ‘People’ dimension

A person has a position (job title) and may have more than one Role. Linking the person to the position and to their Roles in a partocular set of processes is a useful relationship to present.  An example of capturing and using information on Human Resources is shown below;

The process mapping dimension of the model is perhaps the best understood. An example of capturing and using information on Process is shown below. For each step we capture work instructions, the time and cost metrics, and skills requirements;

An application system (JDE, SAP, MS-Outlook, Ellipse, TRIM, for example) may support the execution of a process step. Linking the steps across many processes to specific application systems is a usefule relationship to present. For example, when enquiring about “which steps are supported by this system?”, or “which systems are involved in this process?”, the listing is easy to access.
